Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Is The Treatment For Crohn's Disease And Bloating?
I have recently been diagnosed with crohn's. I have seen the specialist several times and he is not very help full. I have crohn's as a direct result of ankylosing spondylitis. I suffer server bloating and it does not seem to matter what I do and do not eat. Quitting smoking helped with the serve stabbing pain. I am now considering alternative treatment as the medication I am now on has put on over 25kilos. I have also been unable to sleep in my own bed for the past 8 months as the pressure from the bloating pushes a great deal on the spine, and I find sleeping in a sitting position a great way to get some sleep and very little pain in the lower back witch in turn reduces the amount of pain killers I take.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, the over all symptoms that you have besides the Crohn's disease seems to be fibromyalgia and it is the functional kind of disease it is not due to any pathological changes, If I would be doctor of this case then I would try to treat this case with Gabapentine and Chlordiazepoxide with Clinidium, if you have not done the work up as long as the symptoms are concern then better to get done the imaging studies or concern areas, hope this information helps.
