Hello,

Your father seems to be suffering from chronic ITP. Its a disease in which antibodies are produced against platelets. Immune suppression is the choice of treatment to improve/ maintain the platelet count. 60000 to 1 lakh platelet count is good for maintenance purpose.
Any steroid dose started once, needs to tapered slowly if required. Wysolone is a steriod being used for immune suppression purpose in the present scenario.
Extreme weakness in the legs could be due to anemia due to reduced nutrition and also loss of weight could be the same reason. Improvement of nutrition is necessary. Check for hemoglobin. If the hemoglobin is low, B complex and iron tablets needs to be taken to improve the anemia.
Memory loss could be attributed at present to weak emotional well being. If it increases, early dementia disorders like Alzheimers needs to be ruled out. However, regular mild exercize along with maintenance of nutrition and injectable vit B12 and iron should improve the present scenario.
Wysolone cannot be stopped at present. Unless the platelet count improves more than 1 to 1.5 lakh, if and when it does, it should slowly tapered down over days or months.

Hope I have answered your query. Happy to help, if you have any further queries.
