Dear Anonymous,
Thank you for choosing health care magic as a forum to get answer to your queries..Many a times in life we may go through certain stressful phases or emotional difficulties which may affect our physical health too, like it is affecting your sleep patterns. Good sleep is in turn essential for maintaining a healthy mind and body. Sometimes it might be difficult to share the nautre of your problem in open question box so I suggest you should see a clinical pscyhologist to get your problem assessd and gain help or helpful references.. Since you say the domestic problem that is bothering you has otherwise been sorted and something similar has happend to you 25 years back but currently you cant stop thinking about it which is causing you sleeplessness , it could be the part an anxiety or depressive episode. You are 53 years as you state so you maybe in or nearing menopause stae which leads to a lot of hormonal changes leading to our own stress coping resources starting to fail us.
Please do see a specialist and get a thorough assessment to lead a healthy life. ALso, Do let us know how you were helped and what were the results of your meeting with a specialist.

I have recently been very depressed. And when I am happy, i am easily brought down within minutes. Also, I seem to have no motivation for most things anymore. I am 15 years old, and i usually enjoy going to school to see my friends and now, i barely want to get up in the mornings. One of the most common thoughts in my head is suicide and i have cut my wrists once or twice thinking it might help me gain control of something, but to no avail. My friends notice things are different and are constantly asking me if i am okay. My mother is completely against the idea of me possibly being mentally depressed...and tells me its just a stage everyone goes through and it will go away soon...i also deal with a lot of bullying at school for my weight and my looks and everything someone can possibly think of...i ve been called every name you can imagine by fellow classmates...please help me...whats wrong with me...?

Does the rocking of a ship increase insomnia in those who have recently had a stroke and exhibit an increased startle reaction? I recently shared a cabin with a stroke victim who claimed she could not sleep all night. What I noticed is that repeatedly in the middle of the night she would suddenly and violently wake up without cause and think I was making noise. She also the week before the trip underwent an invasive procedure endoscopicly to see if she needed a stint placed in her artery. Could she be reacting to that, too? She claimed she slept better once we were in a hotel on land and I got my own cabin. Others in my family report that I am a quiet sleeper, so I believe I am not the cause of her insomnia which has plagued her all her life. A very light sleeper, or is something more serious going on that her doctor needs to know about? Thanks for your answer in advance. Nina Daniel

HI,
I'm a yoga teacher/massage therapist, age 35, 98 lbs. I often experience fast resting heart rate (up to 80 from a normal 72). I've been having faint chest pain of late. My cholesterol is 198, trig 77, HDL 79, LDL 104. Also I've had insomnia problems for many years now. Is it possible that I'm over excersizing and straining my heart?
thanks, worried

I am 66 and my scalp is itchy, but only on the crown at top and back, my hair is falling out more than it ever has before. I am an insomniac, who only sleeps three hours per night. If I retire at 10.pm, it takes an hour to go to sleep and I wake at precisely 2.pm. Whatever the hour is when I doze off I still only get three hours. It almost seems as if my Cicardian Rythms have been programmed to sleep for three hours only. Is my loss of hair related to my insomnia?
