What Is The Remedy For The Sprained Ankle And Pain Near The Big Toe?

10 days ago I had a minor incident where I hurt my ankle/foot. I just figured it was a sprained ankle. Have been using ice, ace bandage and Aleve. Was bruised at first, but bruise is gone now. However, pain comes and goes, and is in different places around my foot/ankle. Sometimes it s the ankle, sometimes it s the heel, etc. today it s near the big toe on the inside of my foot. Have tried to stay off my feet when possible, but with my work not always practical. Trying to wear more comfortable shoes as well. Is it possible I have a bone fragment floating around? Something else? I have not gone to my doctor yet for an X-ray. I m guessing that may be the next step.
