I have gone through your query regarding whooshing sound in the ear along with imbalance, lightheadedness and you had already grommet inserted on your ear drum.
Your symptoms are indicating that your internal ear (Labyrinth) is not working well. Internal ear has got two parts-
1- vestibule- concern with body balance and unsteadiness is the result of insufficiency of this part.
2- cochlea- This part of internal ear is concern with hearing, Irritation of this part results in whooshing sound (tinnitus).
Therefore most probably your internal ear is diseased and it really demands specialist care for thorough examination and necessary investigations to pin point the diagnosis and that may be accordingly manage.
Regards.
