What Is The Reason And Solution For Sore Throat, swallowing Difficulty And Ear Pain?
Hi ...I have a sore throat/swallowing difficulty.....its been going on for some time ..and I thought it may be connected to my reflux problems ...(I have haitus hernia) . Tonight it got much worse and the pain radiated up towards my ear . I find it quite frightening ...as I can actually feel some problem like an obstruction when trying to swallow . I have taken a hot drink and 1000mg paracetamol ...which has helped slightly. What do you think is down there ? and what do you think I should do?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of acid reflux due to hiatus hernia, which must have been a long standing; nose you have pain on swallowing, sore throat. A referred pain to the ear indicates that you have some inflammatory process going on inside, which can be tonsillitis, epiglottitis or granular pharyngitis. I would advise you the following: Consult an ENT Surgeon as you need to be actually examined by him to get the correct diagnosis and get a prescription for an antibiotic and proper anti-inflammatory medicines. Take liquid diet, plenty of oral fluids to avoid dehydration.
