What Is The Prognosis For Conception After 6 Months Without Periods Post Metformin Intake For A Month?

Hi I need help ,I haven t seen my period for 6 months now , I went to the doctor, he prescribed me mertfomin pills for 31 days but now I have finished the pills and my periods are not back yet ,help me please , I need a baby.what should I do, I don t have money to go to a gynaecologist.

Hi,

Metformin is not for induction of periods. It helps treating PCOD by reducing insulin resistance as a cause for PCOD / excessive weight gain. So you needn't be pregnant, continue taking Metformin. Even if you had spontaneous ovulation and you had conceived. It won't matter. Please wait for periods to come for one more month, if not go for pregnancy test again. Follow the advise given by your doctor. There are many treatment plans to treat PCOD. You doctor would apply them one by one.
