What Is The Percentage Of Active Sperm Needed For Insimination?

Dear Doctor,



I have a child 7 years old. Since 4 years i am trying to get pregnant but no result so far. On 21 day of my menstruation the follicol was 20.8, and doctor suggested to make insimination. I did the insimination yesterday, but result of my husband spermogram analysys is speed 40 % active. Can insimination be sucesfull with 40 % of active sperm, or sperm speed should be above 50%?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
* 40% activeness indicated in semen analysis means not 40 % speed, but 40% of sperms are active, Actually, 50% or more activeness is supposed to be normal.Still, I feel the sperm can have +ve result , as,
In artificial insemination, sperms of good quality are chosen for injection.
* I would suggest, toget your ovulation evaluated & treated if needful.
