Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here... Hi i had IHD in december 2009, angioplastry was done for both RA and LA. Now stable and healthy. What is the life of premedicated stent placed in LA and whether it has to continue for life??? Thanks

There is nothing like life of a stent. Most of the stents last lifelong. All stents have risk of reclosure which is around 1-10% for different generation of stents. And this happens mostly within one year of stent placement. After one year, the risk of reclosure becomes negligibly small.
But you have to continue blood thinners throughout your life.
