What Is The Increased Libido Prior To Periods?

What is going on with me? I am a 38 year old female who feels intensely aroused a week prior and during menstruation. This arousal is "unjustified" in that it occurs throughout the day during mundane activities. It almost drives me to tears if it's not taken care of and when it has been taken care of, I'm usually experiencing the same unwanted desires within hours (until the 4th day of my period). These sensations seem to continue into my feet where I experience this tingling sensation, as if it could bring similar sexual gratification via a foot massage. I feel like I'm going crazy!

Hello,

You are experiencing increased libido prior to periods. You have discomfort because of the sensation / feeling that your are experiencing. You can experience such symptoms because of hormones, hormones are thought to play a big role. Your estrogen and testosterone levels increase during ovulation, potentially triggering a rise in libido thereafter before periods.

Many people experience bloating in the run-up to their period. Feeling of bloating is quite uncomfortable, it may also put pressure on your G spot. And pressure can make the G spot feel extra sensitive. An increased amount of discharge can result in more lubrication, allowing the genital area to feel more sensitive and may lead to feelings of arousal.

However, if you are suffering from PGAD, persistent genital arousal disorder, it is a cause of concern. Avoid sexual stimulation, masturbation, anxiety, and stress as it can trigger PGAD. You are suggested to get CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy and ECT, electroconvulsive therapy done as they can be helpful.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
