Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Dizziness and
vertigo (sensation of movement) are common problems.
They are most commonly related to the
inner ear.It is normally advised that no objects are to be placed in the ear, including q tips. If wax is at the very outer aspect of the ear, then it can be removed but no object is to go into the ear.
The reasons for this are: (1)the possibility of damaging the ear drum and other parts of the ear
2)the wax can actually be pushed against the
eardrum which can then cause symptoms
Some persons do have excess wax production, but in that case , a softening agent can be used so that it may possibly come to the outer ear or it should be washed out by a doctor.
The most common causes for the vertigo (the room spinning) are (1)meniere's disease
(2)benign paroxysmal positional vertigo- this varies with head position and may the cause of your symptoms. It is treated by your doctor performing maneuver called the epley or semmont.
(3)vestibular neuronitis
It may be best to visit you doctor for an assessment.
I hope this helps
