Hello Dr. Hemant,
Thanks for writing in.
Your symptoms are suggestive of a chronic allergic process. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases, the allergen cannot be identified and all that we can do is control the symptoms for you.
However, in order to identify an allergen, I would suggest you get a patch test done. This is done at Apollo hospitals, Delhi.
I would also suggest the following:
a. Dont have long showers. Restrict bathing time to
b. Use a heavy base moisturizer after bathing. Use when skin is still damp.
c. Use a sunblock while going out.
d. Keep your house very clean
e. Change your pillow covers every night and wash your bed linen in hot water.
f. Vacuum clean your house once a week
g. Avoid seafood

The anxiety itself can increase the itching. But I would rather have you tested first and then look at other causes. See if these measures help and we can take it ahead from there.
Regards

HIV AIDS Specialist Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan's  Response
Hello,
You haven't mention where in your body you feel your itching much. If it is more on your exposed parts it may be due to Mosquito bite allergy or sun light allergy.
If it is more on your flexural area, it may be due to sweating. Generalized itching may be due to dryness of the skin. Diabetes mallitus should have ruled out. If you are working in a dusty atmosphere you may have itching due to dust allergy. Lastly, stress in your work place or at your home also may lead to itching. So try to find out the cause and treat, you'll get rid of your itching. Get well soon. Dr S.M
