I have a recurring skin infection in and around my nose that consists blisters that ooze. I once had a severe chicken pock there as a child and used to get impentigo a lot. I have no cold or sinus issue right now. It is far worse when my nose gets sunburn. my nose gets red and hard. Right now it's mainly the blisters and no sunburn. I am 47 years old.

Hi. Welcome to healthcaremagic.

Recurrent bacterial infections around the nose occur mainly in individuals who are carriers of staph in the nasal flora.

Treatment is a course of an oral antibiotic (e.g penicillin group) for a week ad topical antibacterial ointment e.g 2% mupirocin twice daily.

Mupirocin should also be applied twice daily, just inside the nostrils for 5 days to eradicate carrier state.

regards
