Hello,

Your doctor has prescribed a beta 1 blocker. That means either he has given it to you for the chest pain or you must have registered a high blood pressure.

Either ways, you must quit smoking, because it not only causes lung problems like cancer, but also contributes to heart problems.

Lung Cancer, in very rare cases presents as just pain in the chest. Usually there is long standing cough, breathlessness, bloody sputum, alongwith weight loss and loss of appetite.

You could for your satisfaction go for a CT Chest. However, it is important to keep in mind that just medication cannot solve your problem. You need to make appropriate changes in your lifestyle too.

All the best!
