My stomach feels swollen , Dr. said it is probably an ulcer . I was worried that it might be a hernia because I lift heavy furniture at work , but he said he really thought it was an ulcer . It is very uncomfortable . He told me to buy omeprazole .should I do anything different ?

The apt term I can surmise from your doctors choice of meds looks like "Bloating" : increase in size of stomach due to gas. Usually due to gastritis.
Have food at fixed regular intervals irrespective of feeling or not feeling hunger.
For sometime avoid spicy, junk and caffeine , tea cola sodas .
