What Is Meaning Of Bulky Uterus With Underlying Myometrial Fibroid Lesions?
Hi I'm 38 years old, have had a trans abdominal and trans vaginal scan.
These are my results are as follows: The uterus is retroverted and enlarged (volume 124cc). The myometrium displays heterogenous echotexture and multiple fibroid lesions. The domiant lesion is in the posterior wall measuring 4.1x4.5 cm. Other smaller lesions in the anterior wall measure between 8mm & 15mm in diameter. The endometrial cavity is collapsed and endometrium has uniform outlie and normal thickness of 8mm. Both ovaries are normal. The ovarian volumes are 5 & 5.8cc for right and left. There is a Nabothian cyst in the cervix. no adnexal mass or free fluid in the pouch of douglas?
Conclusion - bulky uterus with underlying myometrial fibroid lesions.
Can you please explain what this all means? Thank you
According to USG report, uterus is enlarged in size and there are mutilple fibroids in the uterus largest measuring 4.1 x 4.5 cm in the posterior wall. Fibroid is benign tumour of the uterus. Treatment of fibroid is both conservative and surgical depending upon many things like age, family is completed or not, symptoms etc. Endometrial thickness is normal. Both ovaries appears normal. There is a nabothian cyst in the cervix,it is age related asymptomatic cyst. You should consult gynecologist.
