What Is A Tender, Sore Swelling Under The Left Ear And Jaw Line Suggestive Of?
I have a sore to touch swelling under my left ear and jaw line. It started last night and today it swelled up more. Should l consult the doctor tomorrow or will it go down on its own , it does not affect my swallowing or breathing but it is quite tender.
As per your complain tender, sore swelling under the left ear and jawline can be due to a number of causes like inflammation of the gum flap around the wisdom tooth or pericoronitis, while can also be due to swelling in the submandibular salivary gland or can be swelling of lymph nodes or Lymphadenopathy..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like x ray can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now take anti inflammatory painkiller like x ray and do cool compresses over the swelling..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
