What Dosage Of Eltroxin Must I Take To Regulate My T3,T4 And TSH Levels ?

my tsh level is 21.what dose of eltroxin i should take?i am 51 yrs old,suffering from this disease during 6yrs,at first it was 50,taking eltroxin reduced the level to normal, now i am taking the dose as 50 mg,recently i am feeling lack of energy and test result is T3 1.12 mg T4 5.46mcg ,TSH21.68 micro IU/ml .i am a male.now advice my dose.

If your TSH is 21 then it is quite high and you are having hypothyroid so the indicated drug for the treatment is Eltroxin.As for the dosage there is no exact method to say that at a particular level you will have to take a particular dose.In cases like yours the treatment is done by titrating the dose of the medicine in comparison to the TSH levels.If you are presently on 50 mg and still feel tirednessor lack of energy you can increase the dose to 100 and once you feel better repeat the test and if it is normal then you can continue and if the levels are going towards lower side then you will have to reduce your dose.This titration is better done under the guidance of your doctor.
