What Does Total Bilirubin 0.50mg/dl In LFT Report Suggest?

Hi, My husband got his LFT done yesterday. his reports shows T.Protien 7.16 g/dl, Albumin 3.94, Globulin 3.22, A/G Ratio 2.22, Total Bilirubin 0.50 mg/dl, Conjugated Bilirubin 0.21 mg/dl, Unconjugated Bilirubin 0.29 mg/dl, SGOT (AST) 54 U/L, SGPT (ALT) 117 U/L, ALK.Phosphatse 83 U/L and Gamma GT 45 U/L. He is non alcoholic. Is there anything to worry, please advice.

Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Slight increase in ALT is seen. Albumin level is within normal limits. Bilirubin levels are normal and not to worry.
2. It indicates mild liver injury. Possibly medication induced.
3. If it were to be above 50 years, mild increase in ALT is normal. Fatty change above forty years of age, can also cause raised ALT in this range. Weight reduction, moderate exercise and nutritional diet is essential.
