What Does Tight Sensation In The Test And Muscle Pain Indicate?

I just started (2 days ago) in early evening getting a little tightness in my chest, tongue soreness, fatigue and muscle pain. Today it started mid afternoon. Overall I m a very healthy individual. Two weeks ago I went to give blood and they couldn t take it as my Iron was low. I ve given blood three to four times a year and never had that problem. Thoughts?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Low levels of iron can be related to diet or loss of blood. Loss of blood can occur in obvious amounts or there can be small occult (hidden) blood loss e.g. in the stool.

You may want to consider having a stool test for occult blood if there is no obvious reason for the low iron levels.

Low iron can lead to anemia which can cause fatigue and chest tightness (would have to be very low). It is not usually associated with muscle pain. Muscle pain can be due to different causes such as viral infection, trauma, side effect of medication etc.

You may need to be reassessed by your doctor.

I hope this helps.
