What Does This Ultrasound Report Mean?
My ultrasound impression states mildly heterogeneous and echogenic liver echotexture, possibly due to fatty infiltration but which is nonspecific in appearance. My physician said I have what they call a fatty liver but that I shouldn t be concerned since my liver enzymes which have been slightly elevated in the past were both normal in the latest labs (AST - 24; ALT - 21). He concluded we would keep an eye on the situation. Your interpretation is appreciated...thank you.

Proper diet and physical activity decreases the chances of fatty liver. It also helps in recovering from the fatty liver disease. Yearly screening is necessary to follow up the disease status. The stages of fatty liver disease are fatty liver, scarring, fibrosis and cirrhosis.
