What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi my father is 62 year old. In ultrasound of whole abdomen it shows liver is enlarged in size span 15.5cm. echo pattern suggestive of hepatomegaly. There is 28X20mm thin walled anechoic cyst in postero superior segment of right lobe of liver. No evidence of I.H.B.D. Can you guide me if something is serious?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

What was the complaint that made him go for an ultrasound of the abdomen? Diabetics or hypertensive on any medications? Since Hepatomegaly and cyst do MRI. Do:
- LFT
- CBC
- RFT
- ECG
- X-ray of the chest

Review them with a doctor.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. C. Elanchezhian, General & Family Physician
