What Does This Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi Sir, I had an Ultra sound last yesterday at the pregnancy 8 week 1days .May I want to know the following ultrasound report . 1-Cavity contains single GS with ill -defined fetal pole seen inside. the measurements for the gestational sac were 35mm Option:8wk size intrauterine pregnancy. I have the following questions- 1. Does this ultra sound look okay for my gestational age? 2.What does ill defined foetal pole mean? 3. Should I be worried about not having the foetal cardiac activity detected yet? Thank full and we will looking forward your reply as soon. We are so worry for my baby.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Single GS means that only one baby was seen.

The fetal pole is the thickening of the margin of the yolk sac. It can normally be seen at 8 weeks with an abdominal ultrasound. It is normal.

The ultrasound does not indicate that there are any present problems with the baby.

I hope this helps
