I am 5weeks and 6 days pregnant... I went to ER for cramping... I have bc of PCOS and multiple Miscarriages.. My hcg Tuesday was 3283, Thursday (yesterday) was 4449, today 6503... The ultrasound showed what appeared to be two sacs joined together.. One had nothing in it the other had a yolk sac fetal pole and heart beat 106hr. They said they believe the heart beat just started.. The report states gestational sac with single septate are midline.. Is this viable ? They said the yolk sac and fetal pole looked normal but the gestional sac was abnormal because the septation.. What is this? What should I expect?
They said I have a 18mm subchorionic hemorrhage that needs to be watched.. Could that cause what appears to be septation? During the ultrasound it looked to be two sacs fused together and one side had the yolk sac and fetal
Pole

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

This is exactly what I was trying to tell you. The subchorionic haemorrhage has pushed the pregnancy sac and the pregnancy sac membrane may be appearing as septa. As I said before repeat ultrasound after one week.

If you have further...

My girlfriend hard ultrasound scan and internal scan doctors only saw 55 mm gestation all sack no yolk got to return in six days for second scan date of conception unknown pregnancy test said 1 to 2 weeks then 2 to 3 weeks HCG levels 6900

Is this most likely to be a miscarriage due to 55 mm sack and HCG 6900 and no visible yolk

doctor1 MD

Brief Answer:
Blighted ovum

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about no yolk sac.

Following is my reply:

1. At serum beta hCG levels of 6900, yolk sac should have been seen.

2. Only gestational sac without yolk sac is called blighted ovum and is not a viable pregnancy.

3. Anyway if...

Hello. I had a transvaginal ultrasound performed when I was (estimated) 5 weeks pregnant. The gestational sac was found and measured 9 mm. I was told this could be a blighted ovum as a yolk would typically be seen at 8 mm. However, I have a retroverted uterus. Would this make it more difficult to see a yolk this early in my pregnancy (giving me hope for a viable pregnancy) or is it likely to be a blighted ovum?

Brief Answer:
You should wait ...

I am currently 9 weeks pregnant according to my first Ultrasound. Anyways during week 4 and the beginning of 5 I was on vacation. Took a pregnancy before I left and it was negative. Anyways I drank ALOT of alcohol. At least 10-12 units everyday for at least 10 days before finding out I was pregnant. What I have read online is a bit confusing to me. Some articles state that the yolk sac is providing all nutrients to the embryo during the first 6 weeks of pregnancy and nothing the mother ingests( including alcohol) is able to get to it. Which makes sense since most women wouldn't know that they are pregnant at the early stages. Natures way of protecting the embryo. However I have read on multiple sites that your baby can have full blown FAS disorder from binge drinking on any of the following days 17, 18, 19, 20, or 21 after fertilization. If this is true then I was definitely drinking on all of those days. So my question is concerning what is true regarding either of these statements. It has to be one or the other. Both statements can not be true.

Hi Doctor, this is my ultrasound at 7 weeks 6 days. Everything looks good but I'm a bit concern with my Yolk sac size being 5mm at the moment. I heard the normal Yolk sac size should not be more than 6mm and it will graduatelly grow in the size until 10 weeks. I'm a little worry if by 10 week it will exceed 6mm? I have very limited knowledge on this and would like some explanation on this and knowing if my size is right for my pregnancy week. My last period started 20/08/2016. Thank you!
