Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just found out about 3 days ago using a home pregnancy test that Im pregnant. Today I went to get a confirmation test at the hospital and was told that my HCG level is only about 36 what does that mean and is it safe to say im really pregnant? Also I have to do blood again Monday.
Thank you for asking on HealthcareMagic.com, providing better healthcare for you. I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. A HCG level above 25mIU/ml is considered positive for pregnancy. A single hCG reading is not enough information for most diagnoses. A transvaginal ultrasound should be able to show at least a gestational sac once the hCG levels have reached between 1,000 – 2,000mIU/ml. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions. Wishing you good health.
