my 4 year old brother had red colour in his urine. So we went for checkup. The result shows 1.altered echotexture of the liver with two hemangiomas. 2.venous channel is seen connecting the IVC with the portal vein. What does this means? What should be done next?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Hemangiomas are common lesions in liver. They are benign and excision is treatment of choice.
2. Due to mild liver damage, venous shunting is occurring directly from portal vein to venous channel.
3. Meet a gastroenterologist to get hemangioma excised. This should solve the present problem. Also get an urine analysis done to rule out a renal cause.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
