Dear Sir
My MRI reveals the following:
FINDINGS:
* Curvature of spine is normal.
* Alignment, height and signal intensity of all the vertebral bodies are normal
* All the IV discs are normal in height. L3 - L4, L4 - L5, L5 - Sl IV discs reveal T2 hypo intensityy s/o disc desiccation.
I V DISCS:
* L4 L5: Diffuse annular disc bulge with focal right foraminal bulge is seen causing anterior thecal sac indentation and narrowing of right neural foraminae.
* L5 - Sl : Sequestrated disc fragmentis seenn in rightpara centrall, foraminal region extending posterior to the Sl vertebral body causing compression of S 1 nerve root.
* Bilateral facet joints and flaval ligament are normal.
* Pre and paravertebral soft tissues are normal.
* Posterior elements and neural arches are normal.
* Cord is normal in bulk and signal intensity.
* Bilateral S I joints are normal.
IMPRESSION:
* DIFFUSE ANNULAR DISC BULGE WITH FOCAL RIGHT FORAMINALBULGE IS SEEN AT L4 - L5 LEVEL CAUSING ANTERIOR THECAL SAC INDENTATION AND NARROWING OF RIGHT NEURAL FORAMINAE
* SEQUESTRATED DISC FRAGMENT AT L5 81 LEVEL IS SEEN IN RIGHT PARACENTRAL, FORAMINAL REGION EXTENDING POSTERIOR TO THE Sl VERTEBRAL BODY CAUSING COMPRESSION OF S1 NERVE ROOT
Those are the words on my report. I obviously am not a doctor and I don’t understand most of the report, but may you kind people out there let me know if my case is really that serious where there is no way to treat it. Or may I have some suggestions on my next step. I am 55 years old female
Thank you
