At L4/5 level, there is focal postero-central disc protrusion causing mild indentation of the anterior theca and roots of cauda equina with moderate bilateral neuro-foraminal narrowing.5. AT l5/s1 LEVEL, THERE IS FOCAL POSTERO-CENTRAL AND RIGHT PARACENTRAL DISC EXTRUSION WITH EXTRUDED DISC MATERIAL ENCROACHING INTO THE RIGHT LATERAL RECESS CAUSING MODERATE INDENTATION OF THE ANTERIOR THECA AND ROOTS CAUDA EQUINA WITH SEVERE RIGHT NEURO-FORAMINAL STENOSIS AND MODERATE LEFT NEURO-FORAMINAL NARROWING
Thanks for your question on HCM. Your son has vertebral problems. The nerve roots when coming out from spinal cord, travel between the two vertebra. So when the distance between the two vertebrae is narrowed, the nerve roots coming from them are compressed and there will be pain and motor deformity of supplied region. If compression is less than only pain and tingling will be felt.but if the compression is more than the motor weakness will develop. Since you are saying that your son is having problem in walking, means the comptession is severe. In my opinion you should immediately consult orthopaedic surgeon. And I think surgery only will release the compression.
