What Does Polycystic Ovaries On An Ultrasound Mean?

what does this report

Uterus is anteverted and normal in size. Uterus measures 6.2 x 3.2 x 3.9 cm No mass seen in myometrium. Endometrium appears normal. Endometrial thickness measures 0.74 cm
Both ovaries are bulky in size, ovarian stroma is echogenic & tiny multiple follicles around periphery. No mass or cyst seen in either ovary.
Right ovary measures 4.4 x 3.0 x 3.6 cm, volume 25.7 ml and left ovary measures 5.8 x 3.6 x 3.3 cm, volume 36.6 ml.
No free fluid seen in cul-de-sac.
Urinary bladder appears unremarkable.

IMPRESSION:
Findings are suggestive of polycystic ovaries.
No other pathology is noted.

You are suffering from polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD).This is due to presence of multiple cysts in ovaries with increase in the size of ovary.
However it should be further confirmed by hormone assay and clinical correlation.
This is a common disease among females and can be easily managed by medicines.It is not serious at all.
Surgical intervention is required in very few cases.
You should consult your gynecologist.
