What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

I am a 55 1/2 year old male. A recent blood test showed a Triglycerides level at 182. HDL level of 47, LDL level of 133, and a Total cholesterol level of 216. HgbA1C is 13.3. Can you provide some insight on the goodness or badness of these numbers and what I can do to improve the numbers that aren t within the good/normal range.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.

I appreciate your concern for the lab results.

Incomplete data like any history of diabetes or its treatment.

After having gone through the results given in your query, I am of the opinion that you have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus which is reflected in the form of a very high HbA1c level.
Besides, you have high total cholesterol and borderline high Triglycerides and LDL levels which are suggestive of complications of uncontrolled diabetes.

In view of the above explanation, you are advised to visit a physician for proper evaluation and treatment of diabetes and high lipid levels.

Hope this answers your query.
