Based on your query would like to check for cellulitis or an insect bite.
Would you clarify a few things for me, please? *how old are you? *what is your height and weight? *do you have any other medical issues or take any medications? *did you injure your left foot? *which toe is it? (big toe - have to check for gout)
I recommend : - a physician consult, visit the er if the pain is too much. -xray of the foot -blood tests (complete blood count, liver and kidney function tests, blood glucose levels).
Based on these we can arrive at a diagnosis. You may not need all these tests or need a few more tests. Hope this helps. Wish you good health
