What Does Haematoma In CT Scan Suggest?

On 27th Nov,2010, my friend had an accident, he suffered a head injury. CT scan shows:Small epidural haematoma in right temporal.small contusion right frontal and in left high posterior parietal.cerebral oedema is slightly increased.subarachnoid haemorrhage.

1.Small epidural hematoma in the temporal region on right - this means there is a collection of the blood in the epidural region with bi concave shape - normally feature to say its epidural.
2.Its seen in the right temporal region - the region above the right ear sidewise.
3.There is a subcutaneous / soft tissue contusion / injury noted in the frontal (front side bone) and high posterior parietal.
4.Cerebral edema - swelling of the brain ( seen as effacement of sulci and gyrii
5.and bleed seen in the sub arachnid space as hyper dense collection with increase HU value.
6.Needs immediate attention, surgical correction may be necessary.
