Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son is 17 years old and he discovered a lump on his side towards his groin. He says it is tender to touch but ok when he is moving about. he went to his GP and they took blood tests. He got his results back today and they were clear. the doctor told him that he will be going for a scan next week to see what it could be. I am sure you can imagine he is worried about what they may find. What are your thoughts Dr?
Hello, Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic. I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. Most probably it could be an enlarged inguinal(groom) lymph node. It indicates some kind of infection around the surrounding area. Have a detailed look over his feet and leg. Look for any minor abarasions or minor wounds in the area. Most cases resolve with a short course of antibiotic therapy. Other possibilities are inguinal hernia. Wishing you good health. Regards Dr Shinas Hussain
