What Does USG Report Of Uterus Indicate?

USS shows a bulky uterus with an AP diameter of 9.4cm. The myometrium is expanded in the midcativity with solid tissue mass with mixed echo-texture and AP dimater of 7.3cm. It is submucous in locations. Adnexae appear free. Pouch of Douglas is empty. No free pelvic collection sighted.No cyst, no cyesis

Thanks for writing in.

It appears that you have a large fibroid in the mid segment of the uterus in sub mucosal location. This is a benign tumor commonly seen in women. The treatment of such a tumor is hysterectomy if you are past your reproductive age group or myomectomy in case you still wish to conceive where only the tumor portion is removed. The size of the fibroid is not favorable for medical treatment. The pathological diagnosis of the tumor can be made after surgery.
