Hi,
ECLIA is now one of the tests used in diagnosis of HIV. It is useful during a condition called as window period. It identifies p24 antigen.
During window period, antibodies would not have formed, but virus can still be present. In HIV, it is up to three months.
Elisa is very sensitive and it is also negative and it is expected in initial stages. You should get a repeat ECLIA test for HIV after two weeks of exposure. That is the minimum period after which this test is positive.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
