What Do Rashes All Over The Body Indicate?

My daughter is 11 now, but when she was born she had a heart murmur for about two months. At the time the kept us in the hospital an extra day because her skin showed a giraffing pattern over her entire body. At times this pattern returns even now at 11. What is the cause? Thanks.

Hello,

The rash commonly causes by miliaria (deep heat rash), hyperthyroidism, hypoglycemia. As your daughter was having a history of murmurs, the probable cause might be rheumatic fever. You can go for the following investigations:
1. Throat culture
2. Electrocardiography
3. Echocardiography
4. Blood tests (cultures)
If any positive test is there, then you have to start medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
