General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would recommend you to use a combination of cortisone ointment and an antifungal twice a day for 1-2 weeks.
The lack of fungus in the skin scrapings does not completely rule out a fungal infection, so taking both the cortisone and the antifungal (clotrimazole or miconazole) is advisable.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
