What Do Ppbs Of 340 And Fbs Of 360 Mean?
Hi. I am a 76 yr old male, 5-10, 260, and have been in good health until 10 days ago. Im uncircumcised and I noticed a balanitis and candidiasis (acc. to the i/n). Cleaned often, used an antifungal creme (for athletes foot), and triple antibiotic ointment and lots of cranberry juice and some herbals for anti inflammation. Now seems gone but to rule out Type 2 Diabetes, had a post prandial done: 340. Few days later had a FBS done: 360. Lately I get very thirsty and drink and urinate a lot. I am also very tired and have to take naps. First, why would the FBS be so high, and higher than the PPBS? Secondly, am I becoming a Type 2 Diabetic or is this a UTI?

your sugar readings are suggestive that its a type 2 diabetes where uncontrolled blood sugars causes frequent fungal infections, Thirst ,excessive urination ,tiredness and fatigue.
Fasting blood sugars of 360 is high , you need to see a diabetologist and evaluate yourself by doing certain required lab tests and start the right treatment.
Consume a low carbohydrate diet, have small meals rather than 3 big meals.
Avoid simple sugars like juices, sweets, beverages, refined cereals.
Add a bowl of vegetable salads and healthy proteins to your each meal.
