Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Do Pain And Vaginal Discharge After Intercourse Indicate?
My girlfriend and I had sex for the first time, she has done it before but only once and it was about six months prior to the incident with me and her. During it she had pain despite us doing plenty of foreplay and her being very ready. it got too much too bear the next day and we had to stop. a day later after urinating she had a tissue discharge she noticed when wiping. Should we be worried about the tissue discharge and is that amount of pain normal or what should we do to prevent it?
According to your concern you should know that vagina can produce a number of different fluids that may discharge after intercourse. A number of fluids are a sign that the sexual organs are functioning normally, but some may be a sign that an STD or non sexual causes.
The color, odor and consistency of this discharge can be used as indicators of whether or not your condition is normal or may require medical attention. But referring your case with pain, vaginal discharge and sexual history I think your girlfriend should exclude some causes like yeast infections, bacterial vaginosis, chlamidia, gonorrhea, trichomonas doing lab examination and physical examination by a doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Monika Dede
