What Do Bright Blue Veins From Shoulders To Chest Indicate?

Yesterday I noticed bright blue veins starting at my shoulders and running all the way down and around my chest (looks like a road map) Today I have had pretty severe nose bleeds off and on all day. I never get nose bleeds. Could they be related? Should I be worried?

Hi there,

This could indicate that you have a blood clot somewhere in your deeper system, which could be causing an outflow obstruction. In simple terms, the blood traffic is backing up because the exit on the freeway is closed!

I'd recommend an ultrasound of your upper extremities. I wouldn't be worried or lose sleep over this, but blood clots should be treated. An ultrasound is a quick and non-invasive tests. I'm not sure if the nose bleeds are related, as this is usually not a symptom we see with blood clots in the deeper system.

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you have any further questions
