What Do MRI Findings Of Bilateral White Matter Foci Of Altered Signal Intensity Mean?

According to MRI findings it's given bilateral high parietal white matter foci of altered signal intensity, being low signal in T1W1, high signal in T2W1 and FLAIR, with no restricted diffusion and no perilesional edema.
Opinion given by radiologist is bilateral high parietal lacunar ischemic changes, for clinical correlation. Can you please explain what is the real problem and why I get headaches sometimes

Dear patient.
Greetings from health care magic!!! I am Dr Thakker and shall be answering your question.

MRI is an imaging modality for determining the soft tissue anatomy. Your MRI brain findings suggest that there is decreased blood flow and oxygen supply to a part of the brain called as parietal lacunar area. This area contains nerve fibres for the sensory and the motor systems of the limbs. This deficit can lead to a stroke in future.

However this is no way related to the headache you suffer sometimes. Lacunar ischemia does not give rise to headache. We need to rue out other causes of headache like:

1) Migraine headache

2) Tension headache

3) cluster headache

4) Secondary headache from eye errors, tooth infection, ear infection.

I need to know a detailed history of your headache as a symptom to point to a correct diagnosis. A visit to the neurologist is helpful to know the exact cause of your headache.

I hope this helps you out. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to write back to me.

Yours sincerely,
Dr Thakker.
