What Could Cause Ear Ringing?
hi my left side of the ear started ringing for about 10 days now, and it seems to be getting worse. i had a tooth infection on the left lower mouth (the molar) and the dentist prescribed Clindamycin, i took it for about 5 days before my appt 6/1/11 w/the dentist but left side of my cheek is still swollen still infected. but upon administering the 2nd shot, i felt it in the roof of my mouth then the room started spinning for about 15 min, my BP went up to 165/?, my extremities were cold & tingling, they gave me oxygen & gave me some glucose gel/watermelon & slowly my BP went down gradually, and spinning stop& went home after an hr or so. Went to another dentist for i was afraid to go back, 2nd dentist saw me 1 wk later, i needed to get my tooth extracted, so so scared that when they gave the 1st shot i started shaking and felt cold all over.. they gave me raw brown sugar and it helped right away.. And they were able to pull my tooth out & bone graft in within 10-15 min. The problem is i have ringing in my ears constantly now. I had it before i went to the 2nd dentist but it s getting worse, i can t sleep at night, seems to be worse when i m sitting or laying down.. I don t know if they hit a nerve or if i still have infection...

Noted the history about injection for dental procedure and getting an attack of cold, spinning and as you have detailed.
All the problems looks most probably due to the fear causing vaso-vagal symptoms or overactive sympathetic system.
As the reaction to injection cause different symptoms.
I would advise you the following since there still is ringing going on in your ear.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations as per the clinical cause found so that you can have a proper diagnosis and further investigations like MRI of the affected part can be done to support the cause.
Till then take medications like Cinnarizine, symptomatic and supportive management.
Take bed rest as it helps to recover faster.
Avoid stress and anxiety or take medicines for this too.
