What Could Extreme Pain In Upper Left Shoulder Post Food Intake Indicate?

My father suffers from extreme pains in his upper left shoulder. Sometimes after drinking, sometimes after eating. He went to the doctor who prescribed him Tramadol for the pain. It is so acute that it makes him feel weak and he has to lie down for a few hours. He has a slight heart problem with an intermittent heart beat? takes warfarin to thin his blood and Omeprazole for his heartburn. He also has two very large hernias which are very uncomfortable but the doctor s won t touch them because they are not hard. He is off his food at the moment too.

Hi there.

Heartburn can cause pain. There could be Acid peptic and acid reflux disease which is irritating the diaphragm and causing pain in the right shoulder. Avoid lying down immediately after meals. Eat healthy. Acid junk food, colas, smoking and drinking alcohol. Consult your Doctor for the heart issues and get an Endoscopy to look for peptic ulcers
