What Could Cause Swollen And Watery Eyes?

I have a 2 yrold with swollen and watery eyes, a nasty cough, he isnt eating for last couple of days but does drink water and milk. We have been giving him luke warm shower or bath once a day and switching between Tylenol and Motrin. Are we on the right track or dobwe need to do something else?

Hello. Thank you for your question. In most cases of children with swollen, watery eyes, in the preaence of upper respiratory symptoms, the cause is viral. These viruses are ultimately harmless amd resolve on their own. You are on the right track. I would make sure to keep the eye area clean. If eye symptoms don't resolve in a week, I recommend consulting with your doctor.
