What Could Cause Sore, Dry Throat With Thick Mucus, Fever And Once, Sneezed Out A Fleshy, Blood Stained Mass?
It started with a sore throat and then a fever of 102 and higher. It took me 2 days to break the fever. No coughing no sneezing or running nose. My throat has just been sore with an extremely dry feeling. endless thick mucus or phlegm. My neck feels like the weight of my head has tripled. Oh yeah headaches when I stand up but that disappeared when the fever broke. last night i had a difficult time sleeping because of the mucus. I finally sneezed and spit up a quarter sized fleshy looking thing. It literally looked like a piece of raw chicken with blood in it. My neck and throat is beginning to feel better though.

Hello, It is my privilege to be able to help you, Your history as suggested me that you are having a severe lower respiratory tract infection, which may be the infection of the lungs. The spikes of fever what you are getting is because of infection in your body. The type of sputum is also evident of bacterial infection. I would have suggested you take the medicines to control the infection , to cough out the sputum and some medicines to control the spikes of fever. I suggest you to consult your ENT specialist for investigation, examination and management. Thank you
