What Could Cause Elevated BP?

my fathers blood pressure shot upto 220/138 .Hes is currently in India and was immidiately treated and told to rest and after a day doctor recommended following tablets :
Lasix Tas
Losar (50 mgm)
Amcard(5mgm)

Any Recommendations regarding what we should prevent and specially take care of ?

Hi

If his hypertension is controlled with these drugs, continue these drugs. If not , consult a physician in India and adjust the drug dose as advised by physician.
Also ask him to lower down his salt intake and if not otherwise contraindicated,suggest regular exercise.
No smoking, no alcohol..
