What Could Be The Reason For Dark Red And Orangish Blood With Clots Discharge?

Hi I have been taking the birth contol pill for three weeks now and I have not missed a day. I have gotten cramps today and had dark red and orangish blood with clots today. I did have unprotected sex the second day after begining the pill and I have since. My period was due the week after i started the pill but i dis not have it. Do you know why this could be?

Hi, welcome to the forum. From what you have described, it is possible that you missed your period as a result of pregnancy and not because you were on birth control pills. You started birth control pills just one week to the end of your period meaning that fertilization could have taken place. You just need to do a pregnancy test to be sure that the problem is not pregnancy.
I hope I have answered your query
I wish you good health
