What Could Be The Cause Of Painful Swelling Behind The Ear ?

My left ear ... swollen under and aroundit, big lump behind my ear, tender to touch, feels plugged. Last night I woke up becasue it hurt so bad. I heard a pop and then a gush of fluid ... this happened twice within and hour and a half. Have I broken my eardrum??

Hi,

The chances that you have broken your eardrum are less likely. However, it cannot be completely ruled out here.

Please get yourself examined by an ENT specialist with an otoscope to rule out the same.

Regards,
Dr. Shanthi
