What Could Be The Cause For The Sharp Pain In The Vaginal Area And Lower Abdomen And On Tetracycline For Endometriosis And Hidradenitis?

Hi I am a 22 yr old female I suffer from endometriosis and hidradenitis suppurtivia, I am on tetracycline for the hs and have mirena coil to help with endo as well as pain killers if needed. My problem is that since last night I have been getting agonising sharp pains in my vaginal area and lower abdomen, it's not like any pain I've experienced with my endo before, it makes me feel extremely nauseous. I've had a cold for the past 3 weeks so too start with wondered if it was connected but it just seems to be getting worse

From your history, it seems that you have developed some kind of pelvic infection which can occur in such a situation. If I were your treating physician, I would consider removing the mirena coil temporarily with advice of your gynaecologist and then giving you a broad spectrum antibiotics effective against both aerobic and anaerobic organism after sending a vaginal swab for culture and sensitivity test. However, you need a clinical examination to decide if it is a simple pelvic infection or otherwise. Therefore, I would advise you to visit your family physician/treating doctor for a clinical examination and further action.
