Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Weight Gain Inspite Of Being On Diet Control?
I had a brain stem stroke last July. I am 51. Since the stroke I now have a hypothyroidism. My problem which is important to me is weight gain. I eat breakfast and lunch. Fruits for snacks. I focus on fiber and protein content. I work out approx. 3 hours a day 5 days a week 2 days recovery. I am about 40 pounds overweight. I don't understand.....help me.
Hi, i have gone through your query and understand your concern.
In my opinion your wight gain is directly linked to your hypothyroid status.
If you are on any drugs for this condition then those medicines are not working properly. i will suggest you to fix an appointment with a doctor and undergo tests for thyroid profile. and then you need to readjust the doses according to the reports.
you need to test your thyroid functions at least twice a year just to know that medicines are working fine.
i will also suggest you to continue your exercise schedule and cut don in your protein diet. you should focus on liquid diet more.
Hope this was helpful to you, if you have anymore query then please dont hesitate to ask, i will be glad to answer that. wish you a good health.
Thanks & Regards Dr. Shiv
